Yes, I, too, know of a couple of HHs that are still awaiting lifts
to new and different parts of the country. If you're REALLY dying
for a HH or two, let me know and I might give you a few puzzles you
can solve to help locate these stagnant limpets...

It seems as though "Honor Liberty" has been frozen on the East
Coast. The last placer apparently did not read the instructions and
didn't post its new location.

I try to keep them moving as quickly as possible. Sometimes the lack of boxes big
enough to house a visitor is a problem. I have even found a couple of hitchers left out
in the open sitting beside their new host, not inside, since the boxes were too small.
My most recent HH find, Rayvenhaus' Hitch Hiker Dude was one such traveler.

Fortunately, this beautifully carved stamp didn't experience the abundant spring rain
we often experience here in the Pacific Northwest. It has happily moved on in the
same week I found it. A nice big box presented itself, just begging for a house guest.

Re: problem placing HHs in smaller boxes

One thing I did to place a HH that was in a largish cylindrical container was to take along a larger freezer ziploc bag, then place the HH AND the new host box inside the freezer bag. That way whoever found the box would also certainly find the HH.

I am a little confussed about what to do when you fine a HH. I found one
late last Fall @ the Avlon box site in Stony Brook, LI. The HH had it's own box
and book & stamp pad. So I stamped the book sent it to NH with my daughter to
the RoseMary's Shower letterbox site. I did note it on this talk list.
Being so close to the cold and snowy time of the year I don't think anyone found
it yet. My daughters will be together in NH the end of the month and they will
check the site then. Is that what I was suppose to do? If the HH is still
there, should we leave it there or move it once more? If so, we will move it
back to LI., NYor somewhere near Putnam, CT around Easter.
